The idea
A sales floor watching its own CRM get in the way. Complicated, expensive, and priced for features that went untouched. The brief was simple: build the version salespeople would actually use.
About us

Our story
Our founder is a 45-year veteran of the sales industry who started in high school, selling sunglasses to his classmates and teachers. Many of the ideas behind this CRM came from his early days canvassing door to door, selling commercial printing.
Adam Berman has a fair amount of sales experience under his belt, and he managed to survive most of it without computers, cell phones, CRMs or AI. That perspective is the reason the product looks the way it does.
After growing increasingly frustrated with what was on offer, the idea to build something better took hold. While most CRM companies were adding complex features and hiking their prices, we decided to do the opposite — a simple CRM at a reasonable all-in-one price.
The goal was a system that worked the way a salesperson wants to use it, not the way a group of software developers decided it should be used. As we like to say, it's sales software, designed by salespeople.
Selling is not complicated. You present a product, give a price, and close the deal. That’s it. No reason for your CRM to be complicated either.

2013
A sales floor watching its own CRM get in the way. Complicated, expensive, and priced for features that went untouched. The brief was simple: build the version salespeople would actually use.
2019
In January we began implementation: the user dashboard, business and consumer search, the call dialer, call reporting, and roughly one million business and consumer records in the database.
2020
We added approximately 20 million business and consumer records. Any business or consumer in the United States — any time, anywhere, any device.
2021
Sales talking points from local demographics, news, weather and sports. Research tools, call recording, an email and voicemail library, Zoom teleconferencing, and list transfer through Google Drive, OneDrive and Dropbox.
2022
After three years of building the most convenient sales software we could, DatabaseBuilder shipped — efficient, secure, and straightforward enough that a rep can start on day one.
Salespeople close deals, not software.
Many CRM companies add more advanced features and raise their prices. We went the other way and built a simple, easy to use software, at an all-in-price, the way you want to see it.
Between them, there is almost a century of phone and sales experience behind our software.

Leading since 1998A lifelong salesman, using his passion and years of sales and marketing experience to build a better CRM for his team.
Born a true salesman, Adam spent most of his life in sales and marketing, and uses this passion and years of experience to build better CRM software for his marketing team. He quickly realized that most CRM systems did not operate the way his sales team needed them to. In 2013, the idea for DatabaseBuilder was born. His newest project is building a whiteboard version of DatabaseBuilder that is designed for any business to use.

Topaz brings more than 20 years of real-world sales, marketing, and operations experience to DatabaseBuilder. She began her career as a lead qualifier and worked her way through nearly every level of the sales process—from Marketing Director and General Sales Manager to VP of Operations and Co-Director of New Business Development.
That experience gives Topaz a unique understanding of what it takes to move a lead from the first call to a closed sale—and everything that has to happen behind the scenes to keep a sales team productive.
Her hands-on experience helps shape DatabaseBuilder around what salespeople and managers actually need: a straightforward system that keeps leads organized, follow-ups moving, teams accountable, and opportunities from falling through the cracks.
She didn’t learn sales from a software manual—she learned it by doing the job.
